AMSA approved course taught in accordance with STCW 2010, AMSA Marine Order 70 and IMO Model Course 1.27. Incorporates Furuno type-specific ECDIS training, allowing graduates to earn both an AMSA ECDIS certificate and a Furuno ECDIS certificate. Pivot's portable simulators allow this course to be taught at any location required by the client.

Highly practical course, with every student having exclusive use of their own ECDIS simulator which has a Furuno type-specific ECDIS (FEA/FMD) and full simulation capability (simulator visual display, conning and manoeuvring controls, radar and other navigational equipment and communication systems)
All assessments are conducted on full mission bridge simulators with full access to bridge integrated navigational equipment and manoeuvring controls and systems
Course is taught by experienced mariners and instructors who are approved by AMSA
Successful candidates earn two certificates: an AMSA ECDIS certificate and a Furuno ECDIS certificate
Training is conducted at Pivot in Tasmania, but portable ECDIS simulators allow training to be conducted at any location required by clients (eg onboard a vessel)
2 Day Course
Approved training for Furuno FEA/FMD ECDIS systems. Highly practical, with participants trained on dedicated ECDIS simulators with full mission capability, real controls and Furuno ECDIS equipment. Using Pivot's portable ECDIS simulators, training can be conducted at any location of the client's choosing.

3 Day Course
Introduces participants to basic vessel handling manoeuvres for azimuth thrust propulsion systems. Pivot's portable vessel handling simulators allow training to be conducted at any location required by the client.

Course Duration - As Required
Practical on-site training conducted as an operations audit to train and test tug masters on tug handling manoeuvres required for port operations. Involves onboard training and simulation training under the expert guidance and supervision of a Training Master.

Combines onboard and simulation training: Onboard training is conducted on tugs working at a given port. Simulation training uses Pivot's portable tug simulators that model the simulation environment required by the client (specific tugs, target ships, port environment).

Tug manoeuvres must be learned in sequence, and competence in each manoeuvre must be demonstrated before moving on to the next manoeuvre

1 Day Course
A highly practical demonstration of ECDIS requirements designed for shore-based personnel who need to know the requirements of ECDIS and/or conduct ECDIS related tasks ashore.
Course Enquiry4 Week Course
IALA approved and taught in accordance with the IALA model course V103/1. Course graduates are expected to be able to perform VTS operations, supervise waterway traffic, schedule shipping movements, contribute toward effective teamwork at the VTS Centre, communicate effectively and respond to emergency situations in compliance with VTS port procedures and maritime legislation, and use VTS equipment for the safe and efficient delivery of VTS services. Credits for Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) available.
3 Week Course
IALA approved and taught in accordance with the IALA model course V103/2. Builds on knowledge and skills gained for the VTS Operator Training and prepares participants for advanced VTS responsibilities and VTS supervisory roles.

AMSA approved course designed to meet the requirements for coastal pilot professional development as outlined in AMSA Marine Orders. Applicants must provide documentary evidence of a valid Coastal Pilot Licence issued by AMSA. Course graduates will gain exemption from components of the Master Deck Revalidation Course.
